BACKGROUND OF ASMI



Where the ASMI is Coming From…

FOUNDED
The Australian Sales & Marketing Institute (ASMI), an incorporated association (founded in August 1994 as Australian Sales Institute) is the strategic sales and marketing information exchange/resource connection for corporations through their senior management.

ELECTED BOARD
The Institute has an (annually) elected National Advisory Committee (NAC, known as the “Board”) of committed volunteers, working in corporate roles, who assist and advise management.

'DIMENSIONS' - ASMI ANNUAL SUMMIT
The ASMI established an annual Summit in 1998, incorporating a series of (largely) delegate planned/presented case studies and workshops.

FMCG iMPACT SUMMIT
The FMCG Australasian iMPACT Summit is an annual event which commenced in 2003.

EDUCATION
The Institute is exploring a national Asian region benchmark for sales management and salespeople.

IN-COMPANY & EXTERNAL CONFERENCES - EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
While the Institute regularly nominates third party training providers – it occasionally undertakes targeted strategic development (utilising interactive case studies) within leading companies and, in some instances on request, plans and delivers all or part of corporate conferences in Australia and overseas.
