Every day in Australia, six babies are born with heart disease or illness. This amazing statistic is the bottom line for a health circumstance that needs support - a lot of support. Too many such babies die! Child heart disease is the greatest killer of children in Australia, taking more lives than all other diseases combined. It is the most common birth abnormality, affecting one in every hundred children; which equates to over six a day and around 2000 per annum...and representing around half the beds in intensive care.

Congenital heart disease occurs by a cruel hand of fate - it has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. In about 80% of cases the cause is largely unknown...so there is much to do.
